Why I Love Them!
Based in Hook, Hampshire, this amazingly picturesque centre is one of my absolute favourite destinations. Not only are they surrounded by acres of wide open beauty, but the ponies and people are just wonderful to work with.
If you need a moment alone with nothing but nature and a connection between you and pony, this place and these people/animals are definitely for you.
As a CIC community interest non profit organisation not only do they do fabulous work helping those of us who need a second alone with our thoughts, but they also put back into the local community.
I am giving 50% of all sales of prints of Nelson, Tina & Callie back to the centre so they can continue to do the amazing work they do.
I regularly visit (socially and safely distanced when regulations allow) and spend time snuggling and snapping the gorgeousness that is three ponies, so there will always be updated images available for purchase.
Please do check out their website and consider booking yourself or a loved one in for a much needed afternoon of tranquility - https://therapeutic-horsemanship.co.uk
In their own words -
About Us: With a combined experience of a lifelong career teaching disadvantaged children and a talent for natural horsemanship, we decided to combine these two passions to create the Therapeutic Horsemanship Centre. It’s our ambition to share this passion with those in need in a beautiful countryside setting.
Services: Studies show that just 60 minutes in nature can improve concentration, decrease stress and aid sleep. We also offer therapeutic sessions with our friendly ponies. No matter what your experience, you can learn all aspects of horsemanship, including grooming, handling and care in a safe and supportive environment. We cater for children and adults of all abilities.
Our Mission: Therapeutic Horsemanship Centre provides a safe space for adults and children within the community to develop their emotional, social, spiritual and physical well-being by experiencing the benefits of the empathic connection with horses and the natural environment. Our focus is on building trust, confidence and self awareness and to break from the stresses of daily routines.
